The Department warmly welcomes applications from intending students. We currently host a diverse group of students from throughout the United Kingdom and Europe, and from further afield - China, Hong Kong, Singapore, Malaysia, India, Mexico, the United States, Canada, and the Middle East. MA Admissions
Our Department offers three MA programmes:
MA Architectural Design (Part 1)
MA Architectural History
MA Architectural Studies.
These are undergraduate programmes, and applications for entry to any of them is made through UCAS - the Universities and Colleges Admissions Service. This
process is
co-ordinated by the Admissions Office at the University of Edinburgh's College of Humanities and Social Science.

MArch Admissions
Our Department offers one principal MArch programme:
MArch (Design) (Part 2).
This programme is open to holders of a good first degree in architecture from a recognized institution, with a strong portfolio. Applicants are required to have completed the first period of monitored practical training and gained exemption from the ARB/RIBA Part 1 examination. The MArch (Design) programme, currently prescribed by the ARB and RIBA until December 2010, will give exemption from ARB/RIBA Part 2.
Applicants who are unsure if their first qualification in architecture carries ARB/RIBA Part 1 status, usually because they have graduated from an institution outside of the United Kingdom, should click on the 'MArch Studies' link below for further advice on our non-validated programmes.
Applications deadlines for 2007 - All Home/EU Applicants including returning University of Edinburgh students 31 March 2007. Overseas applicants deadline - 30 June 2007.

Scholarships and Bursaries
MSc, MPhil & PhD Admissions
Applications for all MSc, MPhil and PhD programmes are administered by the Postgraduate Office at the University of Edinburgh's College of Humanities and Social Sciences. Click on the 'How to Apply' link below to access the College site. You can download application forms for all our MSc, MPhil and PhD programmes here. You will also find information on entry criteria, English language requirements (for those whom English is a second language), and the application process more generally.
Applicants for the MSc Advanced Architectural Design and MSc Architectural Design Practices are also required to submit a design portfolio. To assist in your preparation of this document, please refer to our 'Guidance on Preparing a Design Portfolio'.
Applicants for the MPhil and PhD degrees are also required to submit a 500-word synopsis of their intended topic. To assist in your preparation of this
